This trail goes through two passes, Yokogaki-toge Pass and Fuden-toge Pass.
Total distance is about 10km, but it isn't hard because there are only
gentle slopes.
On Yokogaki-toge Pass, from Saka-no-toge Pass to Sakamoto village, there
is good stone path made of "Yokogaki-ryumongan rock" which is
mined around there.
For inland towns, Fuden-toge Pass was the important trail leading to seashore.
Formerly it is said that people could see "Kumano-nada Sea" from
Fuden-toge Pass, but now we can't see anything because Japanese cedars
are planted around there. |
