About 4.5km, About 2hrs. and 30mins.: From Nigishima Station to Atashika
Station
--- a little hard walk |
|
You have to get over two passes on this trail, but not so hard.
Through forests of Japanese cypress or cedar, stone path lasts on moderate
slope up and down. Specially there is beautiful stone path near the starting
point of Atashika-cho.
It is said that the name of "Okamizaka" literally means "the
place where Gods meet, God of Ise and God of Kumano." Though it is
also said that "Okamizaka" is from the sound of "Ookami,"
it means wolves in Japanese, because wolves appeared around here. (Wolves
no more live in Japan.) |
